General Rules to Play

  1. As you play your round, take time to view hole locations on greens you will be playing later on during your round. This might be the difference between shooting a good score and a great score.
  2. In most situations, short of most hole locations is better than long.
  3. Hole locations should dictate the strategy for recovery from a missed shot – a left tucked flag is best handled from the right side, etc.
  4. Be patient – controlled aggressiveness (picking your spots) will pay off in the long run. Accept your fate on any particular hole and move on – when “out of position,” your goal is to rely on what you are capable of doing and not what you think you can pull off – you’ll need good course management skills to shoot consistent numbers here.
  5. Remember the club’s motto: “Medio Tutissimus Ibis” (translation: you will go most safely in the middle).
