Practice Center

A practice concept that was instituted a few years age when the new turf field was installed at Weston Field is still in effect for the 2008 season. The Practice Center at Cole Field (directions noted below) provides an opportunity to work on your game without a multitude of distractions. The area is available from early May until mid-August and remains under the control of Williams College. The use of the area is complimentary to all full dues paying members of the golf club. All other categories of membership, guests of members, visiting alumni and the general public are welcomed to use the area for either a per basket fee of $5.00 or a daily fee of $15.00 (all the balls you can hit). The Practice Center is under the supervision of the club’s teaching professional who is responsible for the dispensing of the practice balls and the collection of fees listed above.

Hours of Operation:

Monday – CLOSED for mowing & maintenance

Tuesday – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Wednesday – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Thursday – CLOSED for mowing & maintenance

Friday – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Saturday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Sunday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Directions from Taconic Golf Club:

             Turn left onto Route 43 North - at Route 2 intersection go left onto Route 2 West for 1/10 of a mile & take a right onto Southworth St. Take a left onto Lynde Lane & follow to stop sign. Take a right onto Stetson Road and follow for 2/10 of a mile to the “Practice Center” which will be on your left @ the bottom of the hill.

Lesson programs:

            Lesson instruction is available pretty much anytime at the Practice Center during the hours/days of operation and at the Taconic Golf Club. We offer a variety of lesson options including private individual, a series of lessons, clinics and junior programs.
